deivijs12
Im just wondering do rubber and foam grips not turn when you twist your wrist? I have nukeproof element lock on grips and had inspired ones and the bolts round so easily, so im looking for an alternative to rounding bolts
tom@eastcoasttrials
trialtech foams hairspray, clear lacquer when fitting no movement
deivijs12
What about the rubber ones?
isitafox
Same, just fit them with something like hairspray or spray paint to stick them onto the bars. They do have a habit of coming loose in torrential rain though most people wouldn't be riding in those conditions!
deivijs12
Do they move on their own though without paint or anything?
isitafox
Some do, some don't, depends on the finish on the bars and the type of grip I find. I usually fit Trialtech foam grips to my trialtech bars dry and they're fine.
tom@eastcoasttrials
if you dont wanna use paint ect wrap some insulation tape around the bar wet inside the grip slide on then squeeze the grip and let dry
dezmtber
I just use disc brake cleaner on rubber Odi soft compound longneck grips. Once the disc cleaner evaporates its leaves a grease free stuck grip.
N.Wood
With my carbon try-all bars all the rubber grips i've used in the 3 years i;ve had the bars have been fine on a dry bar with no spray or anything. Forced on with air pressure.
J.KYDD
I too run carbon bars and plain Echo rubber grips and fit them dry. Use the track pump technique
315r
Foam French ID or trialtech and hairspray for me works perfect, in different kinds of bars..
Mark W
I used either satin black paint (as it matched the finish of the alloy bars I use/used) or clear lacquer (for carbon bars) and didn't really have any problems. The only times I really got throttle grip were with really old, haggard grips. If that happened I just put some lengthways strips of electrical tape on my bars and that took up any slack, so they tended to work fine.
