Trials-Mikey
i have recently rawed my steel frame and even with a couple layers of lacquer there was still a slight bit of rust on my frame after one nights ride. is this due to the frame being slightly wet when i sprayed it or is it due to something else ? Help please ?
FamilyBiker
corrosion breaks through nearly every clear coat out there, spray it chrome silver or use hammerite clear laquer

*gentlydoesit
The problem with any clear coat is that it doesnt etch to the steel, it sits on top like a shell and that makes it capiliary air underneath it quite quickly. If your insistant on the raw look ive had longer lasting results by seriously polishing the c0ck off it untill it looks like chrome.. then apply the lacquer. 2 part paint will last longer with a few coats. Alternativly try genolite first, its not quite raw looking when its dry though but it shouldnt rust

Jake.
My bmx has gone patches of chocolatey brown, and I personally love the look. As long as it's not manky bright orange rust I think it looks good. Edited September 25, 2013 by JMCD
