JD™
I like to challenge you lot every now and again with questions I have no idea about, so here's another - hope you can help me. My fiancé just spotted some Chinese takeaway in an American cop programme, and wondered why we don't seem to get their cardboard packaging and instead get crap plastic or foil stuff. So, has anyone ordered a Chinese takeaway in the UK and got it in boxes? Secondly, if you specifically wanted to find out who delivered in what packaging, how would you go about doing it? Phoning up and asking about their packaging is not something I'm prepared to do just because my lady thinks they're cute.
dann2707
Yeah I had one in that style of box once and it was the best Chinese ever.
Revolver
Ask them if they'll deliver from Leeds to London, lol.
Luke Dunstan
I always thought it would taste ming out of a cardboard package.
Jake.
I always thought it would taste ming out of a cardboard package. I'm fairly sure they'd use some sort of foil/silver lining inside so it doesn't touch cardboard at all.
JD™
I think she just thinks it looks cool. I was thinking they might have another name except 'cardboard box', but alas that seems unlikely. I think I'll just use this as an excuse to order loads of Chinese takeaway over coming weeks until one has cardboard boxes... In terms of the taste, apparently they have a type of waxy layer inside so that the food doesn't leak nor taste of cardboard. I'm assuming it then doesn't taste of wax either... Luke Dunstan
Do I really have to explain the pun? Come on JD?!?!

dann2707
Ask them if they'll deliver from Leeds to London, lol. I'm not sure if it was in Leeds. But he's right, its coated in some really slippery material, I can't think of what it compares to. Maybe something you'd get with a pre-made oven meal. We get ours in the plastic Tupperware containers, and it just isn't as cool
forteh
One of the local chinese takeaways has opened a lunchtime shop and use the cardboard cartons, no help at all but we have them in Lichfield I'm certain that I've had noodles somewhere in london (out in camden IIRC) before that came in cardboard, a few years ago and my memory is fuzzy Edited September 25, 2013 by forteh
Luke Rainbird
Buy a load on eBay and decant each time you want to impress Hayley. She'll be wondering where on Earth you get these magical meals from, clueless to the fact that you're using the same place she is.
