williams
Hey! So I've been running both a 150x30 stem and a 128x28 stem on my echo 24" with trialtech highrise bars. Currently running a the 128x28 stem on my 24". Just curious to know what benefits the longer stem would have? I don't want ansvers like "just pick the one you like". I want to know more technical info, like: The longer stem would be better for blabla, but worse for blablabla. Help is well appreciated! valk
Longer stem is better for rear wheel stuff, shorter for 2 wheel stuff. If you have an echo24 like me, then the bike is really tall so you are looking for a way to balance that, the answer would be a longer stem, think of it like a mod. That's why the koxx sky comes with a longer stem than the echo 26 for example, because the koxx is higher. Although it really comes down to personal preference and how you feel more comfortable on the bike with the stem. Hope it helps.
Julesfoxx
I run a 150x30 on my stock better reach and mainly because my BB rise is 60+ so i need a higher rise, thats why the koxx sky comes with a longer stem because its BB rise is 70+ so anything lower youd be kissing the wheel when your up haha. i ran the same on my 24 and felt perfect, just run whatever you feels more comfy for you
dezmtber
I tryed my mates echo 24 the other day he is running a 180 trialtech slammed on the headset. It felt insane on the back wheel. But it feels very long on 2 wheels
williams
Thank you all for the comments! Would the longer stem be better for more tgs'y riding?
Blake
Thank you all for the comments! Would the longer stem be better for more tgs'y riding? yeah, imagine that when you're on rear wheel, you'll be in a more comfortable position as you'll basically just be standing on it. I have a screenshot of swindlehurst on my computer that will help me explain, give me a mo.
SamKidney
I've got a K2 and Trialtech Highrise bars I'm yet to try on my 24". Not sure if it will make much of a difference from the 3D stem I had before.
