harmertrials
What's so special about the piston? CNC so no more water swelling

SamKidney
I can remember a long while back, saying how ideal it would be to have the likes of 05 mags re-done with CNC bodies and CNC'd pistons. My prayers have been answered. These look super pimp, very tempted to order a pair and see how they fare.
Joe Papasnap Maher
Almost the same cost as a whole new 2014 brake and I don't even think they feel as good lol. (played with stand at td's)
AdamR28
Aah, I didn't realise people would be so mad keen on the alloy piston thing. Good job we ordered plenty after spending a few months testing them, then.
Greetings
Isn't plastic better though? You want the piston to be softer than the cylinder surely?
AdamR28
That was my take on it too - but it seems to work in both these and the Tensile levers (before anyone asks about those, we've been spending some time tweaking them and helping Tensile to re-design a few areas, so they should be available for release in hopefully the not too distant future).
Ross McArthur
Would the alloy piston work in my 04 magura levers?
AdamR28
The 14mm version will, yes.
thinkdougie
The racing line products look nice but I just can't justify paying that price, I've ran water bleeds in my 05's for 3 years now and had no problems what so ever. Would like to try them to see if they actually make a difference. Edited September 19, 2013 by thinkdougie
Blake
Isn't plastic better though? You want the piston to be softer than the cylinder surely? Are you thinking this because metal could scratch it? IF you are then that's why there us 2 o rings on the piston. Also metal pistons means you can waterbed forever and not have a slower brake
Alex Dark
But no wiper seal so potentially the same problem as the old rb brakes ?
AdamR28
Another reason why we got one a few months back to test it before buying in any stock. I don't think the RB issue was due to the lip seal, just poor tolerances or surface finish, as this one has been great.

(played with stand at td's) Just playing with them isn't the same as running them for a while though. I'm not keep on the fact they're all red though, looks gash

Blake
Should be no bother with a bit of causssy S. Got to be careful, if you use too much it will increase the size of the bore and leaky leaky : ( plus it would be too much silver :' (
harmertrials
Got to be careful, if you use too much it will increase the size of the bore and leaky leaky : ( plus it would be too much silver :' ( It really wont. Will take 30 seconds to strip, and will look beautiful. You can even use an old piston if you're worried. But caustic wont affect the seals anyway so could even use your new one. Blake
No if you strip the lever down entirely and dip the body into the caustic it could wear down the bore.
Jake.
Yeah but it really won't wear it down if you're careful. You don't even need to be careful, just have common sense.

Besides they look awesome in red Edited September 19, 2013 by harmertrials
