andyboy
Hi all, I'm totally new to trials and this forum - just thought I'd put that out there. I've inherited most of the bits for an Onza T-Raptor. For some reason, all the bits for the Onza were swapped onto a jump-style frame. I'd like to build it back up to something like standard, have a play on it, and see how it goes (I might end up selling it when it's done). I've come here cos I'm not sure of the best way to re-assemble the Magura rim brakes, as I've never worked on a bike like this before. The front came looking like this: There is also a fork brace. Is this ok as it is? Should I re-attach the fork brace? The back brakes currently looks like this: There's also these mounts: Should I swap the mounts to the black ones when I put them on the Onza frame? Do I need the brace? What's the lever for on the silver mounts? Thanks in advance for your help!
andyboy
Also - does anyone know what the bottom headset bearing is on the T-Raptor? I'm definitely missing one of these. I'm sure I could look it up, but this way is easier....
*gentlydoesit
The 'lever' on the silver mounts is part of the v brake mount clamp, youll know what to use when you look at the frame, itll either have a v brake lug or s maggie mount like the forks. Braces are always good.
FamilyBiker
if your frame has the same mounts as the fork i´d recommend using the black mounts.if so,get a decent brake booster for the rear brake, thats how the "brace"is really called. theyre much beefier than the original magure booster and give a stiffer braking feel. also i´d recommend the search function, those kinds of topics are really often here
