scousertrials
has anybody used such sprockets and would the disc mounts hold up.
Jake.
This kinda thing? I'd steer very clear of this personally, although some people have used cable ties before on a sprocket and it has worked but that was to make a rear freehub into a fixed one so they could run a ffw. You would have to turn the hub around so the disc mounts are on the drive-side, providing it's a fixed hub, it could work. No chance if it's a rear freehub though. That particular bit of information will likely change a lot of people's response.
FamilyBiker
lhd?
aener
lhd? That would be the obvious choice, but I once knew someone who wanted to do it because he'd stripped his hub's sprocket threads and couldn't afford a new hub, so just wanted to do this and turn the wheel around
Jake.
Sorry flipp, I was tired when I posted that. I'd like to know why he wants to do it too, lhd was my first thought.

scousertrials
http://www.velosolo.co.uk/shopdisc.html Its because my fellow rider has stripped the ratchet in his hope Xc hub. Hes to stingy to buy new hub. I just wanna know if it will rip apart when big power is applied.
N.Wood
Send it to Hope, free replacement. (well, was when I f**ked the 4 Hope's I've owned in the past)
J.KYDD
So he's going to run a fixed gear set up instead? Surely if he was running a rear freehub then he's not running FFW

Forgot about the whole Hope-being-awesome thing. Edited September 5, 2013 by aener

Forgot about the whole Hope-being-awesome thing. I doubt you'll get anything for free. I also doubt they'll repair it. I have an old Bulb hub which I stripped the ratchet ring on and subsequently contacted Hope. They said they no longer manufacture or stock the ratchet ring for that product but if I was to return the hub they'd sell me a Pro2 for £70. I imagine they'd offer your friend something similar. dezmtber
Unless you can pull the right strings, hope will do a cost price replacement as Matt said. I am pretty sure unless they still have a drive ring or hub shell complete.
N.Wood
I must have pulled the right strings I guess, I had 3 pro2T hubshells crack on me (two older non reinforced, one newer reinforced) and stripped a ratchet ring on another and never paid a penny apart from postage and my own wheel building costs. Maybe they stopped that though.
Muel
If anything dies that they currently make, they'll just replace it normally.I cracked a rotor and a carbon lever blade (clearly through twatting them both), they replaced both with no quibbles. Maybe they stopped that though. When was that though? I think they've tightened up their warranty procedure on account of people taking the piss. I imagine Sam is right that if it's a currently made product they'll sort you out.
