Clear laquer all the way just spray some down the grip and some on the bar and slide on and leave to dry then hey presto stuck like shit to a blanket .

If that dosent work use electrical insulation tape round the bar n then repeat above method

To get off cheap deodorant dosent evaporate too quickly

To put on electrical contact cleaner leaves no residue and drys in seconds, use it on any type of grip, also get grips off easy cause there not glued on for futer replacement using this method

Seems like you can pretty much use anything on carbon bars really - I've used spray paint, lacquer and grip glue before, and I'd imagine they'd do more potential damage than hairspray would be able to. You should be good to go really. In terms of sticking to stuff, whatever works on alloy seems to work as well on carbon for me. The only difference comes with grips really - I usually just use a bit of GT-85 or similar for rubber grips, but always spray paint/lacquer for foam.
