*gentlydoesit
So 20" biked can have a smaller back wheel, can 26"s too?
AkuskaUK
No , not from my knowledge. They possibly could be swapped to a 24 if the brake mounts would allow it and/or rear disc.

isitafox
It's not really a case of people running a 19" wheel on a 20" bike, they are made specifically to run the 19" rim and are just referred to as a 20" bike. Would be a bit like if the trials world switched the rear wheel of a stock to 25" and everything was made to work that way not just a case of sticking a smaller wheel on, although as Akuska said yes you could stick a 24" wheel on but I doubt it would be worth it. Revolver
I think mods have 19" wheels because of tyre size - If you had a massive 20" tyre the tyre might rub and it would raise the chainstay. The idea of a 19" wheel is so that once you add on the 2.5" tyre, the wheels have roughly the same circumference. It's not as much of an issue on stocks because of the proportions of it. FamilyBiker
a while ago it was common behaviour to put 24" tyres on dj bikes to lower the head angle, making it more "freeridish", better for big jumps in trials ithink there was a monty with 25" wheels, but that never established ... *gentlydoesit
Oh, OK that answers that then. The Geo change that a smaller wheel would make to riding just interested me. I foolishly thought 20" had it for riding purposes rather than tyre clearance. Cheers
dezmtber
650b up front just for a laugh on a really small tyre
