Mikec
Hi guys after years of riding with spd's, I'm not sure i want to go back to the pain of pedals hitting my shins so how many of you guys wear them? Was looking at some 661 rhythms for 15 quid, anyone know much about them/use them? They seem quite unobtrusive and lightweight. Cheers mike
jigga
Always wear them, I've got Dianese and POC full length knee and shin. Not really bothered about the status quo and whether its cool or not, more bothered about not being off work with swollen knee's, or defacing my shins for the rest of my life. I dont think blood running down your leg whilst trying to look like it doesnt REALLY hurt looks that cool either.

A few reviews said they were, but maybe their just comparing without shin guards!

dngr2self
I used to wear 661 veggie shin guards and they did a really good job. They have a Velcro bit so you can attach knee pads as well. They can be a bit hot in warm weather though. I don't tend to wear them these days but they're pretty handy if I've got a shin injury. dezmtber
The rhythms are no where near as hot and uncomfy as other knee shins. There much like wearing thin leg warmers.
albert_03
I bought a set of Nike soccer shinguards for under $10. (Mercurial Lite or some such.) Probably hard to beat for value, light, easy to wash. They protect enough of the shin to prevent damage in all but the worst mishaps. If you want them ventilated, drill some holes. Depending on what I'm doing, I wear Gform knee pads, but I almost always wear the shinguards. YMMV.
