err
DrStix, cheers bud, not sure why it looks so different lol Ozzy, tyres are the stock echo ones, not my first choice but they'll do for now! Just ordered some ti bolts for it too, should shave a few grammes lol
wilf
Change the forks before you snap them mate
err
Update: the echo discs weren't right for me, so i snapped up a set of hopes off koxxboy14 which are a huge improvement (also they aren't orange!) After reading all the negative things about sl forks (and the fact i'm a fat ass!) i sacked mine off in favour of some spanky new trialtechs, also i wasn't happy with the riding position so got myself a 175x35 bonz stem too plus a few more ti bolts and a pair of mg-1s with ti axles off the bay. Forks and front brake As it stands now Apologies for the shite pics, will get some better ones when the weather improves! future plans are some monty tubes to shave off a little more weight, i think i'm turning into a weight weenie lol Edited September 28, 2013 by err

customrider-Rhys
cheers bud the weight weenie in me says yes, but the bank balance says no but your spending shit loads on ti bolts to save you half a gram.. yet you wont buy a tyre that will not only grip but save you like 300 grams... thinkdougie
but your spending shit loads on ti bolts to save you half a gram.. yet you wont buy a tyre that will not only grip but save you like 300 grams... +1 light tyres are the things you'll notice more while riding, makes the bike feel so much more controllable.

Monty pro races WILL happen at some point, just not got the funds at the moment The ti bolts are as much about the fact that i detest rusty bolts as they are about weight saving to be honest! err
Small update, decided to swap from bash plate to bashring instead so picked this up off ebay. Didn't want it green so I gave it a quick dip in some caustic(by quick I literally mean about a minute, Echo anodising is shite!) then figured I could probably lighten it up a little so I broke out the pillar drill! End result (stock weight is 59g) I did consider chopping it into a halfring, but I'm not keen on the look of them to be honest Also I've steadily been de-tangoing all the orange bits, just got the headset left but I don't want to kill it so it's staying orange for the time being! err
Update: Bash is on Also put my try-all foams and high rises on, and running them at an angle that doesn't muller my wrists! Still need to fit my black headset to finally banish the orange, also i find the gearing too light so looking into getting a 20t freewheel. (And source some decent tyres too obviously!) Oh yeah, also has 180mm rotors front and rear now. Edited January 3, 2014 by err
trialsquirt
It would be cheaper to get a smaller rear sprocket
wilf
It would be cheaper to get a smaller rear sprocket I'm guessing he's running a 12T sprocket and thats the smallest you can fit on a standard hub.
err
I am indeed, i looked around and found that monty did a rear hub that takes a 10t sprocket, think it was either just for the XXV aniversary bike or has been discontinued
ogre
can't imagine sprockets that small being good for chain life.
