dave33
Doesn't really have to be carbon, I have looked but no where seems to do them

dave33
Where can you get 2mm ones ? If it comes to it I may just buy a carbon tube and make my own. Not worth a hassle really

J.KYDD
Narp, closest we've got in carbon is 3mm http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/vavert-headset-spacer-1-1-8-inch-carbon-prod31762/
trials hoe
http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/43392/Zipp_Carbon_Headset_Spacer says avalible to order, should be a few days I'd guess. all the things I've ordered from there have only took a short while to arrive, but I live 5 mins away so its not too bad for me to wait. or just go for a 3mm or a 5mm one they have some other carbon ones on there for £2.
mjewl
just curious, how come you need exactly 4mm? (can't get my head around what would make 1mm crucial?)
Al_Fel
just curious, how come you need exactly 4mm? (can't get my head around what would make 1mm crucial?) I'm with you there. I'm pretty sure the tolerances for headset/fork/stem set ups don't have to be too tight! Another alternative is you could shave off 1mm off the top of your headtube, or 1mm off the bottom of your stem. or 0.5mm of the top and bottom of your headtube, or 0.25 off the bottom headset cup, 0.25 off the bottom of the steerer, 0.25mm off the top of your headset cup and 0.25 off the top of your headtube! Saying that though you'd effect your riding position by 1mm and that could be a total nightmare!!!!!!

AkuskaUK
I bought a 5mm one from tarty and used a fine grads sand paper to bring it down 1mm, try that?

It's not to do with preloading my headset, as it's ok with either. I just wanted to lower my stem heigh

monkeyseemonkeydo
I think it's pretty clear that Dave's 'special'. Don't forget that as a tool (maker) he's used to working to micron tolerances so can obviously tell the difference. I can't understand why you wouldn't make your own though if it's that important...
