*gentlydoesit
OK so I tried to tune the maggy but, 1 it needs a new lever because of the crack 2 it needs bleeding 3 it needs new plastic olive thingys 4 the mounts and fixings are so worn from the previous owners efforts to set The arseing around I'd have to do to make it good is disproportionate to the cost of a disk brake off eBay, so what size fits this hub fork set best?? isitafox
If you want to get a decent cheap disc brake that's ideal for trials pick up an Avid BB7. And on a stock you'll be wanting at least a 180mm rotor, 160mm won't have enough power.

isitafox
Shimano's are good to a degree, Saints are absolutely immense though the lower models can hold their own. All depends on how much you want to spend really, if money is no object then stick a Saint on up front and a 180mm would be more than enough stopping power, after that it'd probably be a Hope Trial preferably with a Tech lever then going cheaper still you've got a Magura MT2, Avid BB7 which will vary in price depending on what lever you want to use with it (do a search on here to see what others have used) and then you're down to things like a Shimano Deore. In terms of brackets most of the options above are post mount so you'll need to buy a mount anyway, you'd need a +20 to run a 180mm rotor or +40 for a 203mm rotor. One word of advice, if you go for a BB7 then get one second hand. You can usually pick one up with a lever and disc for around £30-40 and they're generally pretty faultless due to the simplicity. forteh
BB7 with a 180 disk and a linear slik cable, learn to set it up (dead simple, just follow the guide on the sram/avid website) and enjoy mental braking
