zoster
Hi ! I am interested in this fw for the back of my 24" street-trials bike. Do these skip or break pawls in a short period of time? (i'm really tired of expensive products that don't last) http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/complete_freewheels/trialtech_16t_freewheel/c16p12155.html Thanks a lot! CalopS
I wouldn't bother. Get a Pro2 trials hub! What expensive products have you had that don't last?
mjewl
"This freewheel must be bedded in before trials use, to ensure any grease used when assembling the freewheel works away from the mechanism. If the freewheel is subjected to trials use without having been bedded in, the pawls will not engage correctly and this causes the freewheel to skip, damaging the pawls and ratchet. If you wish to speed up this process, you can thin the grease down with light oil like GT85 or WD40, by spraying it between the centre and outer teeth of the freewheel and rotating it. Failure to bed the freewheel in correctly will void the warranty." i read that as "this product will most likely fail within a unreasonable short period of time, and it will be your fault." dezmtber
Get the hope. Out of mine and my mates neither ever skip and both are not broken.

Sounds more like "if you can't read instructions and are a retard with your stuff, it'll be your fault" to me...

isitafox
How are people so rough with stuff???I've never bought a brand new FFW in the last 4 years and have also not killed a single one?!
dann2707
Because people actually ride their bikes not debuild them and sell them all the time #smalldig
Blake
How are people so rough with stuff??? I've never bought a brand new FFW in the last 4 years and have also not killed a single one?! Do you not just roll around a lot instead of doing static stuff?
isitafox
Hence my 2nd hand FFW's should be subject to more wear...
bing
I've never bought a brand new freewheel and I've never bust one. I've had a rockman 108, tensile 60 click x2, acs claw and now I have an echo sl, not through choice I might add as it came on the bike. But it's ok so far
Blake
Hence my 2nd hand FFW's should be subject to more wear... Yeah that's true but not a lot of freewheels break from just engaging, in fact they can do that for pretty much forever...
zoster
i have 110 mm spacing on my frame, otherwise i would have gotten the hope a long time ago So... did anyone actually use this freewheel ? Perez
Go for the Echo SL. I think i've used all FW for all brands, and this model never skipped once yet, from 5 months of almost everyday riding. The bed in subject.. I did put some oil on it, spin a few times, and leave it one night alone before used it, seems perfect. By the way, the only FW that i broked was a Tensile. Rockman and Try-All skip a lot. Hope it helped you

AdamR28
So... did anyone actually use this freewheel ? Everyone with a Fourplay Pro bike, so that's a lot of people. Works great, never had a return on this item used in this way.
dezmtber
^best answer yet
Blake
Oh yeah I remember when Euan got his element and it had one on there. It didn't start skipping for absolutely ages and even when it did it was more like little clicks as opposed to full on skips
