Trials mama
Hello I've recently got back into trials and now know everyone runs front free wheels.. I followed suit and have purchased a second hand tensile 60ep freewheel but it skips horrendously.. Is there a easy DIY way to service this or are there any freewheels you guys recommend over this.. Thanks
Neon-trials
You need to degrease it mate that should cure it
dngr2self
They are really simple to service. I was dreading doing mine as I'd never done anything like that before but it was really easy. I think you'll probably be able to find a tutorial vid if you're not sure.
clerictgm
The faster you will degrease it after buying the lesser damage it will do to itself. Edited July 22, 2013 by clerictgm
bing
Follow this from one of the moderators on here, I've done it to both of mine from skipping, and now they are fine, both engage perfectly and are skip free http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/165536-tensile-ffw-clean-up-guide/
Trials mama
Thanks for the link, I did a quick version whilst it was still on the cranks and one of the pawls wasn't doing a thing, so it has improved, thanks for those that posted. If the problem persists ill take it off and clean it properly
bing
You don't need to take the inner casing off the crank, just strip the ffw completely and soak the whole lot in degreaser
