clerictgm
I'm setting up vees to my Element and don't know what to choose: 1) Grinded rim (trialtech) + some hard pads (TNN?) or 2) Smooth rim + smooth pads (inspired fat) And also I'm very interested in that build http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/177948-retired-element/?hl=retired Why Nick uses Flexy Noodles? And isn't element frame hard enough to not use booster? I have some expirience of using vees in trials on my because 24, it was avid sd7 + sd7 lever + inspired slim pads + echo tr rim with dead(erased) grind, hard noodle and some noname cables. So the result was pretty shitty and brake felt pretty bad plus there was almost no bite, and not so good hold. *There are almost no way for me to get good set of cables (odyssey or something linear) so maybe just to set up maggie with evo clamps? Blake
If you live in the snowy wasteland I wouldn't run smooth.
Shaun@FlawlessBikes
It really depends if you are going to ride in wet weather, if not stay on smooth rims as grinds wear down and eventually you will have side walls on your rims that resemble foil, but like georgie poo said if you do live in a snowy waste land 'grind em up'
