heffa
Hi guys. So I bought my first trial bike 5 days ago and now the first problem came up. I have an echo rear brake but unfortunately I don’t know witch model but its an V with a hydraulic system. The problem is that one of the oil cables, the short one going between each sides of the brake, has ruptured and oil is leaking. I I have no experience in this kind of brakes and I don’t know what to do, any suggestions? Should i buy a knew cable or try to fix this one? isitafox
What you need to do is replace the crossover (the short piece of pipe between the cylinders). If you're not confident doing this yourself then it might be worth either asking a friend who has hydraulic rim brakes or a bike shop. I can sort you a piece of hose out long enough if you wanted to give it a go yourself though you'll need to bleed the brake afterwards. heffa
Okey, I'm not so confident with it so i think i will go to a bike shop. Thanks for the fast answer.
isitafox
Make sure they know what they're doing beforehand though as bike shops don't tend to fare well with trials stuff (yes, yes I know maggies aren't specifically trials but still...) bing
Where do you live dude? More than likely there is someone local in the trials scene who could help you out. If not, hit me up on a pm and I'll knock you a crossover up. I have a full magura spares kit y'see
