arw_86
I have an Inspired Hex Team 2012 with the truvativ Holzfeller crankset. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_trials_bikes/inspired_hex_team_2012/c47p11401.html I have been having some left to right (through the bb) movement and spoke to Mark W and said it was a problem with some of these cranksets and the bolt just needed tightening as they require more torque than most. So I torqued it to correct levels and it made no difference. So a few weeks go by and Ive just gone to tighten it again and the bolt just snapped. So now I have a snapped off bolt head (thats loose but wont come out) on the drive side of a self extracting pair of cranks. AM I FUGGERED?!!! dezmtber
Remove the self extracting cover with a pin spanner or large Allen key which ever it uses. Remove the old bolt head. Use a normal crank extractor to remove the crank, hammer a torque bit into the remaining bolt if its stuck in the axle. And remove it. Then fit a new bolt setup. Possibly worth putting a washer/ spacer on the axle to get rid of the side play. Alternate ask tartys what they recomend you do.
arw_86
cheers man! I saw that cover with the pin slots and thought that may be the case but thought I had done enough damage and should double check first.
