Sam Song
The only stems I have heard of breaking are the Monty stems. Otherwise, I rarely see stems breaking.
BradJohnson
The only stems I have heard of breaking are the Monty stems. Otherwise, I rarely see stems breaking. Both the same persons. 150 x 30 Tryall 3d and a 150 x 30 Rockman.
JanStahl
Zhi cnc 150/30 are good to mate For mating, I would recommend this Snip in 165x35. On topic: Trialtech seems to be the reasonable choice. Edited July 9, 2013 by isitafox Unsuitable picture

JanStahl
No, wikipedia commons - see secondary click on picture (open image in new tab and stuff). Or in some browsers, you could also "inspect the element". Edited July 7, 2013 by JanStahl

315r
Seems that try-all k2 break tooo easy much more than 3D... Then, the option for 150x30 is the zhi?
315r
Trialtech only do it in measures 150x35 like bonz? No 150x30?What about this measure? Much diference?
UK_SPAWN
No, and bars can be adjusted so it feels ok. Wont notice after an hour, may even like it more.
AkuskaUK
Today I fitted ti bolts into the stem and also sloped my steerer slightly, no more problems so far with it now! Thanks again though!
Ash-Kennard
So which stem is best?
UK_SPAWN
Thats opinion. No stem is just best, Best at what? Being strong? Lookig nice? Being light? Being expensive/inexpensive? They are all pretty good at being stems because they all achieve the task of holding your bars and fixing to your steer tube.. Cheers

Cheers well no, that clearly isnt true, just look at the pictures above to see... but yes, in terms of strength, light weight is a bonus
UK_SPAWN
I cant say really, I haven't broke any stems yet. But just think and research info. Like is forged stronger than cnc or welded etc, and materials its made from steel ally or carbon, then actually look at pics and videos too see if it looks decent quality, finally look for reviews of it online. AkuskaUK
Update: Cut my steerer to a slope and bought some new bolts... The stem is sturdy and solid now!
Ash-Kennard
I have also been cutting to a slope last night. Blunt hacksaw and a pencil. Irritatingly cut it 1-2 mm too high. So got the grinder out haha
SamKidney
I always mark my steerer around the clamp top and then cut to that angle 2-3 mm below. I use a grinder though, because Im lazy. Edited July 24, 2013 by Echo Lite
