SCOTTY___
Evening TF. After doing some research on here there is alot of fans of the SL. But, there is this whole "New Model" debate between the silver & black colour way. I currently am running a Tensile 60 click. Its starting to make some nasty noises and feels ropey during general riding. Also had 1 or 2 rather large clunks when just generally hopping around. Hence this topic. Mainly after peoples advise on the Try-All (Both models) and to hear from anybody who has bought a SL freewheel recently. Many thanks. isitafox
Strip the tensile and see if it can be fixed with some new pawls and springs
SCOTTY___
Strip the tensile and see if it can be fixed with some new pawls and springs I would but I have only been riding it for 2months! Was bedded in and the whole jaz! Im not a hard rider either or heavy. If it needs that already I would be pretty pissed. would rather try something new in all fairness
isitafox
If it's pretty new then it's definitely worth stripping down to clean a bit of the grease out. Them things are packed with the stuff from new!
Jake.
Tensiles are pretty full of grease from new, if you de-grease it, they're as loud as the echo sl's and just as good imo.
SCOTTY___
So took your advise and decided to strip it down, clean it all out and check for damage. Results: Grease central! Lots of crap came out! Whats peoples thoughts on this, you can clearly see signs of the teeth bulging over where the pawls are engaging. Although the pawls look relatively wear free? bing
That looks fine dude. Give it a light coating of 3 in 1 oil and put it back together. It'll be loud as hell and should feel pretty good
SCOTTY___
Done that. to be honest its no better and it seems to get more and more worse every time I ride
