MikeCottTrials
I have just had a go at one of these for a potential job, I am assuming I haven't got it... Basically the test is 25 minutes, 18 questions. I screen shotted 3 of the questions; I don't want to face this kind of problem again, in fact I think I'm going to start studying business related mathematics in my spare time because I really do feel like a moron right now. If any of you guys can answer these questions with working I'd be grateful EDIT: I would like to say I have answers to these, I just want some back up from people with more experience Edited June 21, 2013 by MikeCottTrials
BradJohnson
1) 70 + 330 = 400 17.5% of 400 = 70 2) 450 : 90 45 : 9 15 : 3 --------5 : 1 Edited June 21, 2013 by BradJohnson
Luke Rainbird
If you're going to give a solution to a problem, please try and present it properly. 70% of 400 is 280, not 17.5. 17.5% of 400, on the other hand, is 70 and presumably what you were getting at

MikeCottTrials
1) 70 + 330 = 400 17.5% of 400 = 70 So in question 1 you're saying you don't have to convert them to the same currency in order to ascertain the percentage attributed to Singapore? Surely you do, SURELY Edited June 21, 2013 by MikeCottTrials

MikeCottTrials
This is the problem with the whole test in my eyes. There's a lot of ambiguous elements that leave me needing to ask questions before I can properly answer
Luke Rainbird
They're already in the same currency - Look at the scale on the graph
PatJsy
In the third one I added up the suits (years 1 to 5) then did the same for shirts. I got 20,431 (suits) and 31,040 (shirts) so roughly a ratio of 2:3 Please someone say this is right so I can feel clever p.s. just did 1 & 2 as well and got 17.5% and 5:1 pretty sure that's right as someone else got that too Edited June 21, 2013 by PatJsy

monkeyseemonkeydo
But it's only addition and division... I think you'd struggle to be a pizza delivery boy if you can't handle that!!

Also get someone who's better at Maths sit with you - everyone else will mate.
