Removing letter/number markings from a keyboard?

Recommended Posts

Mooching about the internet I came across this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823830001

Thought I'd be a great idea to force myself into learning how to type without constantly looking down at the keys, but obviously not for that price tag. I was thinking about buying the exact same model keyboard I have now ($14) and removing the markings from the keys of one I have now.

1. Am I an idiot?

2. Any idea how I could remove the markings?

:)

I was thinking any kind of liquid solvent would f**k the keys up, I left a lego many in nail varnish remove once, it's some funny shit!

I'd like to keep the keys as intact as possible.

A guy at work just sanded them off. It depends on the keyboard i guess some are just transfers on top and some are laser etched.

Buy a cheap £5 keyboard and do it then when you get bored of it you can go back to a regular keyboard.

I once did a course to learn how to type with my eyes shut. They used little round stickers to cover up the letters. Efficiënt and reversable. Does not work well in conjunction with sweaty hands, but keep some spare stickers in case.

I'm gonna try sanding first I think... It's a cheap keyboard so they aren't lazer etched on, you can kind of see like a black shadow around each of the letters.
