Lrn2Trial
Can everyone! Who reads this post upload a picture of the angle and tilt of the bars they ride with please I'm new to trials, my trial bike when I bought it had the handle bars already set up, I've started learning the basics but the other day I put the handle bars forward and I felt like i had more control when I was doing a pedal kick for example, But what I don't know is if I'm putting them too far forward, if that's going to stop me from learning new tricks in the future and I won't even realise that them being too far forward is limiting how I can move the bike. This is how they are now Any comments on how my handle bars are now ?
HippY
If you will put it too forward, then you will feel it, that you wont be able to do anything on two wheel try it, try the best position for you
harmertrials
Everyone's different. Depends on height, style, ability, wheel size, bike, stem etc. On my 26 I run high risers fairly far forwards. They basically look flat if that makes sense. On my mod however I ran them directly in line with the stem. Was perfect for the geo of the bike and to my personal taste.
isitafox
If it feels comfy then that is all that matters
Lrn2Trial
Having them more forward does feel comfortable but what I'm trying to get an idea about is, If I never knew how to pedal kick and I had my handle bars really far forward how will I know if its the handlebars or not knowing how to pedal kick is the reason behind it. So if someone else set my handle bars up for me and did a demonstration of the trick showing that its actually possible to do it is then I'd know to keep them like they are and get used to it so any pictures of the way other people have their handle bars would help because I can try and copy there's because it's obviously possible with the angle they are using because they can do the tricks Do you get what I mean ? isitafox
Yep, and I can pedal kick with the bars rolled really far back or really far forward, but there's only one position which I find comfortable and in that position I can pedal kick the best. Changing the setup of the bike to what you're told is correct isn't gonna help you ride. Getting the bike so it feels right for you and practicing is. Hope you see what I mean.
FamilyBiker
rolling my bars forwards killed my wrists.... :'(
bing
On a mod, I found the right place was just a bit further forward than the angle of the stem. I could still do two wheel stuff, but rear wheel stuff and general hopping up things was a damn sight easier. If I were you, I'd set the angle the same as your stem and go from there. A little experimentation will go a long way to helping you become a better rider
Blake
Just set them up to a position which feels best on 2 wheels, you won't get any benefit rolling them forward when you can't pedal kick very well Once you start doing moves like gaps and sidehops, you might think your riding will benefit from having your bars further forward
