Pashley26
Cba to phone DVLA, because they are pricks. Got my license back from an address change and noticed I have category A with dates from 19-01-2013 to 20-04-2061. Which is weird. I did a CBT when I was 16 and rode a moped for a year, then man'd up and got a car. I then went to do my direct access and failed because I put my foot down on the turn in the road because they put me on a f**king monkey bike when I was 6ft. Decided I hated motorbikes and never gave it a second thought but carried on riding moto cross bikes at the farm. Does this mean that I CAN take the full test, or that I can ride a bike? AndrewEH1
Like you I have just updated the address on my driving licence and have similar dates for Cat A and I've never applied for any sort of bike licence. I'm guesssing you'll still need to do a bike test. Check out this link: https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-categories Edit: Are there any codes in column 12? If so check this link too: https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-codes Edited June 13, 2013 by AndrewEH1
Pashley26
No codes in column 12 no. :/ I sold a car to a copper who is a road traffic officer the other day, he is picking it up on Saturday. I will ask him
Revolver
I am inclined to say if it says you have it, you have it. Course you'd be stuffed if you were asked for the pass certificate.
Luke Rainbird
I think I'd be stuffed if they asked for my cat B certificate Should really check where I've put that at some point...
bing
No you can't. It's basically a 125 cc licence if you are over 17, but you have to do a CBT first, and are limited to 12 bhp and l platesPlus cbts only last for two years
Little Yoshi
The DVLA don't make mistakes. If you have it. You have it. Also always photocopy it before you send it off to get changed or anything. Known someone who has had the bike license taken off them in that way. Ben Cox
Nah, the A entitlement only means you have the ability to learn to ride, on new licenses you have to actually say you want motorcycle entitlement (you probably did when you got your license so you could do you cbt. Pashley26
Surely if it had an expiration date and a begin date (dated in the past) when all the other columns which I don't have an additional license for it means it is a valid entitlement to drive/ride? Ben Cox
its a provisional entitlement to ride i do believe. Kinda like saying, you can learn to ride if you so wish. Ben
