Beefchops
Hi all I currently run an 80mm x 25 stem with an Easton EA70 high rise bar and I'm finding it too low. Does anyone know how much more rise I would get with a Trial tech high rise bar? Thinking of pairing with a 90mm x 25 trialtech stem too. Anybody? Alex Dark
Which frame are you running? What kind of riding? How many if any spacers?
Beefchops
Curtis T1, street, and a 10mm at the minute! Old skool bike, just built it back up, already gone through 4 stems!
LEON
A lot more, Easton bars have sod all rise, even the "Hi rise" are only about a true 40mm rise. It's not just the rise it's the upsweep too. I love the feel of the bars but they're just too low. Edited June 10, 2013 by LEON
Beefchops
I agree, I set the bike up they way I uses to have it and it didn't work, I seem to need a totally different set up! Always run Eastons before but no good now! Wheres the 40mm measured from? I read the trial techs have 103mm which seems huge, are they measured the same? LEON
No, the mtb industry has always measured the amount the bars rise up (not sure what point exactly) and the trials people measure the total height of the bar from top to bottom, so it's hard to compare numbers. I used to find the 25.4mm Ea70's fine back in the day, but the 31.8mm ones just seemed to barely rise at all. Shame, as they're really comfy.
