Car help

A guy at work is offering an induction kit for free/cheap and I've been trying to do some research but I can't get a straight answer. I'm basically after pros and cons including power increase/loss. Cleaner smoother running engine. Fuel consumption more/less Eco.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

I've got a Renault Clio R reg' 1.2 (1149cc) petrol.

Waste of money. I've been in several small french hatchbacks with similar mods done, and it just makes them louder IMO. Still a horrid, slow hatchback.

Keep your money and put it towards a better car IMO.

Open cone air filter will only make your MPG worse, as it allows the engine to 'breathe' a bit better. The sponge in the filter will have bigger gaps between it than your standard one, therefore possibly allowing more dirt to pass through. If your engine is reading that its taking in more air then its going to have to up the fuel to keep the ratio's correct. Personally wouldn't bother on your everyday 1.2 :)

Noooo no no no no. Basically.

I'd request a thread deletion, I feel many storms of shite may or may not come your way.

A 1.2 Clio with an induction kit inherently makes you a massive C. Incase you weren't aware.

All of the above is correct, you will lose torque and mpg as well as power from heat soak.

Get it. Youl love it.

It helps you hear your engine and if it winds up Audi family car drivers all the better. :)

If you want it to improve the car you will also need a cold air feed and a shroud to keep the hot air out, and a remapable evil or piggyback evil so you can get a tuning conpany setup the car to run correctly with the mods.

But that's not worth spending on a 1.2 clio

So just get the bwappp box fitted and drive the car till the engine blows :)

Damn phone text rubbish not evil ecu
