hezzay
Gentlemen, Hope you all had a nice weekend. I'm still looking for a front disc break and came a cross an Avid Juicy 3.5. Anyone got any experience with this? Also; I need some pointing towards the right direction when it comes to discs. The guy in question is selling it w/o a disc so I'll need to buy one. Thanks in advance, Hessel
HippY
well, I have Avid juicy 3. its like that but in black I use it on a 160 disc on a mod, and well, it is just enough for me, but I am a beginner. I would not advise it for you except if its cheap and you are a beginner Edited May 21, 2013 by UKHippY
hezzay
It'll set me back about 30 quid without the disc. I am indeed a beginner, but I'd like to have decent gear that'll last me. A no go you would say?
UK_SPAWN
Think theyre about 120 for front and back. Brand new.. 30seems ok but as he says.. Not the best brake out there. HOPE or Magura is what iv allways trusted.
HippY
This is my first disc brake, I rode an hs11 ungrind and black maggies on it, and it does the job well, altough I will change it as I will progress further on wait for another review and help, maybe it is just my system, I got it used
LEON
I've got a Juicy 5 for sale. Works perfectly, has EBC red pads that are 2 rides old, and I can supply it with a matching Avid 203mm rotor too (no adaptor) I was using it up until last week, but I got a Saint so I have no need for it. All clean & ready to use, no contaminated pads or rotor.
hezzay
Sounds good; will it straight fit onto a monty XXV fork with a trialtech sport hub? This is the hub: http://www.biketrial.si/shop/images/Trialtech_sport_front_disc_hub_03.jpg
UK_SPAWN
Ull need an adapter. What adapter im not sure. But for 203mm im certain you will. For the forks not hub. Sorry
LEON
I have no idea what the Monty stuff requires, but it's a normal post mount brake, pretty much every rigid fork will need the usual post to I.S adaptor, I'm sure someone can clear up what they Monty forks need. The rotor will bolt straight onto that hub yes, normal 6 bolt. You'll need the adaptor & rotor bolts. Edited May 21, 2013 by LEON
