FamilyBiker
i got some blocks if you want 'em? you'll need to cut the backing shape into them though just wait a week or 2 and we can send eachother pads in return.unfortunately the aubergine pigment wasnt available atm so i´m starting with neon green. JT made some chese pads but I think they got eaten before testing could begin. i tried chocolate, but it was just too good tasting so it didnt survive the fitting phase lol

Blake
how's everyone finding the best way to cut em? Wet stanley blade? Dremel?
bing
Wet stanley blade for me, I've got some neon tie fighter backings I'm using, gonna do old coust style and glue it to the top using two rough surfaces and some superglue
FamilyBiker
be aware,we dont want to see a vid of you looping out with a guy in the background saying "frickin´ shiddy bing pads" just joking
bing
I'm gonna name mine bousts The tie fighter backings are actually quite good, they are reinforced with a metal plate, and one you have got the old material out there is a useful recess with a metal surface that is bonded in with some sort of rubber based glue. Its a good bonding surface to be fair, so ill wack em in and have a ride and see what they are like. The material feels similar hardness to heatsink yellows, and its got an orange tint to it like trialtech sport pads. Reports to follow, here is the first set, the material is 10mm thick Am trying them on a medium grind, due to my hatred of tar on a smooth rim and the mess it makes. I could do with some cnc vee backings, so I can try them on a vee brake as well Edited June 24, 2013 by bing

bing
Ok, so the lad who is trying them reckons they are a bit soft, but he's running a light grind and is more than happy with the bite and hold. Can't grumble really
Luke Rainbird
If the bite and hold is good then so long as they're cheap to produce to account for the wear rate, job done
bing
They have a fairly nice honk to them as well. You still ride? If so pm me your address and I'll send you 2 bits to trim into backings

FamilyBiker
thats the mould i hopefully will get. its 2-piece,i just didnt put the bolting holes in the cad file. the 2 blocks bolted together give the shape of a big echo refill(can be cut to every other backing)after the curing process you´d just unbolt it and pop the pads out like icecubes.tadaaa! edit: for those who want the measurements Edited September 6, 2013 by FamilyBiker
