UK_SPAWN
Finaly! I have got the Try-all freewheel off!!!!! I cut off the bashring with a cutting disk on an angle grinder. This has worked twice for me now! After uv cut through the ring the freewheel will come loose with little effort.
Muel
Really? You cut up your bashring to get a freewheel off? Why not just bolt a freewheel tool into the freewheel, stick it in a vice and wack a big tube over the crank arm? Never failed for me. stunt man t
if you put copper grease on the crank threads, when/if you need to get it off it comes off earier if you dont have a vice or a bar, take it to a bike shop, get them to take it off, buy them a packet of chocolate hobnobs and everyones happy

bing
Well I have come acoustomed to being lied to by there staff. I think the overall problem with it was they couldnt be arsed! That's because most of the people who work at Halfords are complete donuts, and haven't got a clue about most simple things bike related. I'd never take a bike to them for repair. Its easier to order parts from crc if its normal stuff, and tartys/trialsaddict/rocknroll bikes if its trials related. Then go on t'internet, have a butchers how to do it, and do it yourself. The only thing I can't really do is build wheels, but I've learnt to do it while I've been off work, so its just getting the tensioning right now. I have most bike related tools now, and anything specialist i'll either make at work or borrow from my mate who works at a big shop in hull
UK_SPAWN
Yeah I actually built a back wheel(koxx drilled rim - dt swiss spokes) onto a Profile bmx hub at halfords over about a day and a half. Usig only there tools and "jig that makes sure the wheel is true" but it was back in the day when there werw a few decent guys there who rode mtb and knew there stuff. And they charged me nothing and gave me all sorts of semi broken stuff that was esily still useable (like a can of oil that was just dented and such)... none of that level of coustomer satisfaction anywhere nowadays. .. Thanks for replys all.
UK_SPAWN
My Shimano freewheel was skipping so decided to put on the Try all 108.9 I got off the old red cranks... I went to the garage up the road and offered them a fiver to do it... 2 seconds later he walks out with it all loose I guess I should have gone there in the first place. I will be taking all my freewheels there from now on. Gave him a fiver n a can of coke and went home to set the bike back up. Went out and tested it and it's so much better I now have 108 engagement points and not 20 something lol. Just wanted to share this .
