ghostrider88
I don´t think you can say exact pressure that is fine for everyone, way too much about personal preference and riding level...If you are pinching, use more pressure till you stop getting them. Or you can do it other way round and start with very hard tire and lower the pressure to the point where it starts to feel good and bouncy without getting pinchflats. SamKidney
I always thought anything above 20psi on a mod felt too solid.... but yeah, Its just a case of experimenting and finding a pressure that suits you.
aener
Just saying it again to reinforce how valid an answer it is: find out for yourself.I ride with Josh, and he runs (in my opinion) dangerously soft tyres. They practically fall off the rim if you turn a corner a little too quickly. I hate them, but that's what he likes and where some of his bounce comes from.I personally find that (due to whatever quirks my technique has) soft tyres absorb more force than they return, like soft suspension when travelling along flat ground. I run my tyres reasonably firm so I get a more direct transfer of power. Harder tyres also let you roll faster, for longer, and carve more aggressively if that's something that bothers you.A safe bet is to put them at around 25psi and ride it. When you find something you can't get up, let a little air out. It works for most people. If it doesn't work for you, put a little more in.It's a sucky answer, but you really do just have to find out for yourself. No-one can tell you what you like. (But start with 25ish as I'd wager it's pretty much the average of the range of pressures people run, so not a bad place to start.)
FamilyBiker
^exactly. look,i run 45 psi when riding streety because i pinch if its less, with 90kg riders weight. when having a session at a spot where static moves rule i go down to 35 psi. found that out like aener said, with experimenting. you see,its another psi for everyone literally
dave33
Personally I feel that you need to start off about 22/23 psi and go from there, considering your weight.but you really want to avoid going to low like 15 psi I know it might feel bouncy but it will actually hold you back in the long run. You will find it difficult to learn how to make the most of preload.
FalseProphecy
i know where ive been going wrong i been using expanding foam :$ no punnys though!
rosslittledubber
I commute at around 30psi untill i get to desired location.. Depending what im riding i then let my tyres down.. Then when i head off home i re adjust the pressure back to 30psi.. Morale of the story - carry a small handpump in your bag
Ash-Kennard
25 in front, 15-20 in rear depending on temperature, where you are riding and how bouncy you are feeling
