Danny00135
Could you upload a picture of your bike? Just so we can see the setup you can tweak it to make it easier for you. It gets easier and will feel natural after a bit
TrialsIsHard
Welcome to the Forum, You can't expect back wheel hops to happen for you in one day of riding trials, it's all about practice! There's some really helpful stuff in this video by Ryan Leech Edit: embed dammit! Danny00135
Embedded This is what I used when I was learning
FamilyBiker
i think you should go in smaller steps if youre just starting to learn trials, trackstand and stuff, when you finally got some balance it will apply on the rearwheel stuff naturally. for me personally it took like 2 months of 3 hours training minimum a week to get something like an "aimed at something" rear wheel hop dialled the brain needs to build links to the muscles, once thats done it´ll be way easier, some moves get instinctive and you can focus your concentration on progression. J.Carter
I was getting close i had one maybe two hops... i also tried starting with the front wheel on a small wall as a starting point and hopping back. But yh it will come to me (Hopefully xD)
onzatpro09
It took me 4-5 hours to get basic hops down. I just went to a place where loads of people could watch me as a motive for me not to fail and embarrass myself. It works quite well I'd say. HippY
give it some time. and dont care about who achieved what in how short time. I am riding for a year ( with longer breaks) and I am learning the pdeal kick just. but you know what? I enjoy it. its fun. and now there is a rider who help me and we usually ride together what is a fun too. and at the end of the day thats all matters, isn`t it?
UK_SPAWN
I couldnt agree more enjoyment is everything. Iv ridden trials before but many years ago. Now its like starting from scratch even though i know i can do better... U WILL get better. Because u know you can or i wudnt still be doing it . Duno if this will help you, but at the moment your about to do your manuver.. Think " this is easy" or "ill nail this" .... It stops u thinking " sh*t im guna fall off" Stop thinking about doing it WHILE u do it.. Analyse after or rehurse in your mind before... U want a posotive feeling as you attempt the move. Thanks guys, Mark
J.Carter
Thanks everyone. I've been doing it with a mate the last couple of days it has been a real laugh and definitely getting somewhere. Yet to see anyone in my area doing trials. what's the best things to be practising to start of? Cheers, Jake
HippY
as a start maybe a flat area, to start to jump on things, maybe a pallet, so something small, like an inch tall I think ( actually thats what I do mainly) and some street spots Ohh and other thing: concentrate. If you tell yourself before you do something what you should do before (for eg www.trashzen.com helps a lot) like : now i pull up the bars then I will kick the pedals, and you are focusing on doing them, you will learn faster ! dngr2self
Track stands, track stands, track stands. They're boring I know but you'll find it really helps in the long run.
thinkdougie
Trials takes years to master, you'll get there one day. Just practice, practice, practice!
