Sam Song
It's been a couple years since they were released, I'm looking for some long term reviews from owners who have had 2011 Maguras for a while. I just keep getting mixed reviews about these on forums and other riders. I'll be running mineral oil with the 2011 Maguras, so I just want to make sure that they don't leak or are excessively flexy. Please comment if you only have experiences with 2011 Maguras, I already know older models were better. And if you are going to tell me to get v brakes, I need to buy separate adaptor, booster, and pads, so it ends costing twice as much as a new 2011 Magura, so f**k that and f**k you. FamilyBiker
used them for about a week, then changed back to 05 maggie. they leaked at the piston. with the new carbotecture lever body(the cylinder is one piece with it)the whole body including the cylinder is bending slightly when braking hard, letting the piston "scratch" at its surface. i´d rather get normal maggie slaves with some third party levers like tensile tocco, than ever will be touching the 2011 maggie again. i mean,ONE week, thats weird! but thats my personal experience, others do well with them... dk2
used them but they startet to leak(got a new on warranty). seems to work great as long as the dont leak. My leak came within 3 weeks, no crashes or anything, just the internal parts where rubbing... Now im back to a 2004 lever.
inthesystem
love mine, packed it with vaseline and shes fine, nice long lever on the hs11 too
chris_trials
The HS33's are great when it comes to power/bite, the lever blade could do being made a bit stronger

SamKidney
My bro's been running his Hs11 for a good while now on the oil bleed, and theres been no issue with it. I think its when theyre waterbled the issues accelerate.
BradJohnson
I have a pair of mint condition HS33 levers with 4 finger blades if you're interested, just had new seals in them, and have no leaks. £50 for the pair ? andykezzy
i dont really like mine, the lever seems to flex too much or something,
Sam Song
Conclusion: Pick up a used 2010 HS33 for $50 and trim the lever body. Edited May 7, 2013 by Sam Song

dave33
Performance wise- excellent Long term reliability- none 6sets Longest lasted 3/4 months Back on 05 now
williams
I had my 2011 hs33 and they lasted about 9 months waterbled. Well, they're still working, but they are a bit leaky so I don't use them anymore. The power difference compared to a 05' is alot better. I bought the 05's since everyone said there was sooooo much better and blablabla... I hated the 05's. Just don't know why, but they aren't as nice as the 2011 ones. I have a friend who have been running his 2011 magura on the same oil bleed for around 1 year and 3 months, no sign of breaking or leaking! Oh, and the flex everyone is talking about is because of the extra power. Basically get them!
FamilyBiker
extra power. okay, the mechanical transmission is higher on 2011s,so there is extra power i agree. but i´ve seen it in real live a hundred times, the lever body flexes like hell. no pun intended

FamilyBiker
take a measuring tool and hold it between the bars and lever housing where the hose is coming out, pull the lever and see the distance increase? i know, its just 1-2mm,but imo should be 0. williams
Have to try that then, anyway lets not clog up this thread though!
JanStahl
Running oil-bled HS11 for 6 months now, still not leaking, massive power with four fingers, flexy, but I like the feeling. Not missing anything.
