hyperactive
Had a nice ride this evening to celebrate finishing a week of tests at school about half way through, something around my cranks started squeaking, I have never taken anything apart around there on this bike, and it has been ok up untill now. Anyone got any idea on what it could be?
Danny00135
squeaking or creaking? if Creaking your BB is loose, tighten it If squeaking then clean it, lube it up 'nd shizz..... Tighten your crank bolts.. They could be loose, could even be your pedals...

Ash-Kennard
yep, either something is loose or hasnt been properly lubricated. use copper grease for tightening components that you dont want to rotate in the threads, LM grease for everything else. copper - pedal threads, BB threads, bashring and freewheel threads, crank splines LM - on anything that is meant to rotate. pedal axles may require a specific grease. also as said, ensure everything is tightened to the correct torque, either get a torque wrench or guess, but i recommend the wrench crank bolts 40Nm BB 40Nm should sort everything out. quick note, before reassembly clean everything up with muc-off or gt-85, will make everything smoother. avoid spraying into sealed bearings Edited April 24, 2013 by Ash-Kennard
