AndrewEH1
Well thought some of you guys might be interested in this custom Skye, hopefully the only one out there! The orange powder-coat is great but living in Scotland can cause some issues, mainly looking like a tit. So after a few months it was time to change it up. Originally I wanted to get it powder-coated blue, but plans change for the better! So, the new Nitromors is rubbish and the old stuff is nearly impossible to get so I went for Starchem Synstryp. Designed to be used to strip powder-coat off alloy wheel so was nice and strong. Bit of a safety notice - if you get this stuff on you it stings quite a bit so wear gloves and have a nearby water source if you need to quickly clean yourself! Also do this outside or in a well ventilated area as it stinks! My first coat (above) was pretty light so my advice is put loads on, for the frame and forks I used about half of the 5 litre tub. My Skye is also one of the 'older' ones so had 4-Bolt brake clamps welded on, so a bit of hack sawing, filing and sanding quickly cleaned the lines up. So after stripping all the paint off and cleaning up I was still undecided who I was going to sent it to for the re-spray. After hearing back from a few people and having a crisis over what colour to go for I wanted to go for a ride so re-built it in its raw state, looked great so decided to get it polished up! Through a team mechanic friend I found a guy (http://www.grateshine-polishing.co.uk/) working out of a shed in town so after two weeks and £100 the frame and forks were ready! Updated on page two. ZeroMatt
Looks well smart, certainly a big step up from the manky orange.

LEON
Probably the best looking thing I've ever seen. I don't really like any of the custom Skye's except Ben Travis' blue one, but this is the winner.

isitafox
This really doesn't help me wanting a Skye, not really a fan of polished frames but that looks great!
Sam Nichols
I think you need to lose the gold

Sam Nichols
I just feel like it would look so much nicer if they were simply black. I guess I'm a bit of a 'plain Jane' when it comes to colour schemes though. The gold just draws my eye away from the shininess of the Skye frame (which should be the real focal point). Just pop it in photoshop and change them to black and see how it looks

Chaotic3vil
Looks awesome. But that shiny will disapear in 2 or 3 months and a white crackling pattern will appear which Is probably aluminum oxide or something of that kind. Did that to my inspired 2 years ago. Looked good for awhile though.

AndrewEH1
Shouldn't do if it's lacquered nicely. Looks fittttttttt It hasn't been lacquered, yet, waiting on stickers and then I might get it done after I've decided whether I want to use them or keep it clean. Ross McArthur
You should have taken the the pictures of the bike stripped/polished using the red brick background - like the orange ones. Looking nice though!

Looking nice though! I went about town taking photos with different backgrounds, including the red brick, and these were the best lighting wise. I might try again another day though...
