Mark W
After a joyous year together, Cap has retired his Gelpr and replaced it with a shiny new red frame. General spec is the Liberte frame built with a bunch of Trialtech Sport and SL parts, with a Der Baron rear tyre and Try-All Stiky front tyre. EDIT: Weight update: 9.36 (you sucks dicks) kg. Cap
Lovely bike, it's weird seeing photos this good on a second hand bike. Hey it's not all abused, the frame and headset are new!
Jake.
Hey it's not all abused, the frame and headset are new! To be fair I could tell it was used by the tyres, forks, levers, and the cranks but other than that it looks pretty spotless.
BradJohnson
9.3 Fo real ? It looks like it should be a lot lighter. Nice work though Cap!
J.KYDD
It looks like it should be a lot lighter. Really? With those forks and tyres you are surprised by the weight?
N.Wood
Some people's perception of weights on here is rediculous. Anyway, looks well set up, and those frames have pretty decent geo from what I remember
inthesystem
loverly bike, nice to see bars at a "proper" angle
isitafox
Bit of an uber bump but wondered if Cap had any problems with the driveside crank hitting the chainstay? Under power mine just clips it, running a Trialtech Sport Lite BB with Echo spacer on the driveside and Tryall CNC cranks.
AdamR28
No, good clearance both sides, also has a spacer. Pics?
isitafox
Non driveside Driveside StayI wondered for ages what the clicking was I could feel when I half pedalled then I spotted my chainstay protector had loads of holes in it where its been catching! bing
Your drive side crank arm looks bent Dave
dann2707
You've also got poo on your pedal I think.
Ross McArthur
Yea, does look a bit bent. How many chains did you use to make that?
isitafox
That is actually a new chain, and the cranks straight it's just a bad angle the pic!
HippY
so something is bending as much as a few cm under power?
isitafox
The gaps not even 1cm
HippY
The gaps not even 1cm but still, there is a gap there Now on power something bends and that gap disappears... Am I on the right track or I should get back to work learning about phones and switching power supplies?
trialsbikingnunn
George blake had the same problem on his echo 24 but on the non-drive side, new cranks and the problem was sorted. he did also try using a flappy disc on a grinder to remove some of the material that was hitting the frame which would have worked if he had cut it down more than he did
Blake
It stresses me out how muddy your pedals are! Yeah I got cranks with more offset, trialtech's are shit though. could grind the cranks down or change cranks
isitafox
I live on a farm, they're constantly covered in cow and sheep shit! Maybe sneak a set of Trialtech SL's on at some point over the summer then as I think they're slightly wider offset
Ross McArthur
I'm ashamed I didnt notice CAPs proto trial tech cranks at the time...
AdamR28
Dave - bigger / extra spacer between the BB and frame will do it, only need 2mm or so.
siontyrex
Maybe sneak a set of Trialtech SL's on at some point over the summer then as I think they're slightly wider offset might be the best idea. is it slightly worn where the crank attaches to the bb?
