bagre15
I got an Inspired 4play recently and the rear hub feels a bit weird. It seems to have a lot of play, but I don't know if it's normal or not. Can anybody help me??
Blake
that video doesn't really show anything. . .that's just the space between the engagements.

bagre15
that video doesn't really show anything. . .that's just the space between the engagements. But is the space usually this big? I don't know because I've never used freehubs before, I've used just freewheels

TrialsRob
That hub is absolutely as hope intended, unfortunately. I am not a fan of the pro2 freehub, tonnes of slipback [i believe that is what you are getting at in the vid] and very draggy.
AdamR28
Pro2s are actually one of the least draggy hubs out there, if anyone has a stiff one (insert erection joke here) it's likely your main drive side seal isn't seated correctly.
Blake
Yeah since getting rid of my front freewheel I can ride everywhere much faster because the hub has such little drag

Is that compared to trials hubs? I was thinking more of the normal mtb hubs I'd been using.

FamilyBiker
i just changed the bearings on my pro2evo trials hub,and even with the new bearing seals it runs smoother than any shimano hub in my other bikes, and i check my bearings quite often.for me its the best cassette hub ever. with trials hubs you meant fixed/frewheel hubs? i thought they run smoother, but the ffw dragging the chain gives the un-smooth feel? TrialsRob
Compared to all rear freehubs. We're going to have to agree to differ then, the only hub I've used that has more drag than a pro2 was a king
AdamR28
That's fair enough - I have a feeling the Pro2 you have / have felt has some sort of issue though...
CalopS
I feel somewhat out of control when I go on anyone's Inspired with a pro2 compared to my draggy FFW setup so It must be an issue with the hub.
TrialsRob
You may well be right, it had been warrantied once already. However last I heard it was still going strong despite being many years old now. I'm glad to hear the pro2 isn't as bad as I had thought, though I'm not sure I'd like to try hope again till the pro2 is no more, or atleast gets new freehub design. Paperclip
Next time I don't land a move I'm blaming it on my "tonnes of slipback"
