trialkid
Plyometrics i'd say. Do some searches on how explosive athletes train, body weight exercises are very good to increase strength and endurance without building a lot of mass, as you don't want too much more weight to shift! I'd also say clean and jerk, very good explosive exercise. Also as much constant comp riding as you can to really build your endurance! I have natural stuff on my seafront, well just rocks, but my arms pump on those after like 30 seconds so I think starting on those would be a good starting point too. Already been hospital twice this year
MikeCottTrials
I think I need to redo my whole routine. So what should I do? Squats Deadlifts What else? In my opinion you're way too rigid...wayyyy too rigid. Forget the concept of days, forget specific exercises. Chest+triceps Back+biceps Rest Shoulders+legs Rest Do them in that order regardless of what day it is. Become familiar with the moves required for each day and do them in different orders but always giving high intensity. Make sure you include military press, bench press, deadlift, squat and barbell row as the foundation of your workouts.

Simpson
Riding is essentially cardio / weights. It counts as part of a session. You can't dedicate "rest" days and go out doing comps - that aint resting. If you go too hard your body will tell you to f**k off - like arm pump. You tried putting an elastic band around your brakes to make them easier to pull?
dave33
Avoid the bicep curl movements. And I'm pretty sure you won't get the arm pump. Which I would guess isn't arm pump maybe tendinitis

Regarding the original arm pump problem, sounds like tendinitis to me, in which case you are way overdoing it. arw_86
Nasty stuff, your not taking creatine too are you? can cause blood clots. Regarding the original arm pump problem, sounds like tendinitis to me, in which case you are way overdoing it. Well they have changed their tune after I had an ultra sound as they didn't find a clot, but at the same time they were sure it was a clot of some kind. Anyway, I had a crash on the bike about 6 weeks before this and slammed my shoulder hard. They believe that was the cause, although it had totally healed and was x-rayed at the time with no breaks or dislocation (just muscle bruising I think). As we stand today I was discharged without any medication or explanation really. My arm isn't a pumped as it was but it is still bigger and when I lift my arm into the bicep tense pose all my veins are easily seen in shoulder. A big bruise also appeared in that area (crease between peck and arm) So I went back to GP and they agree its not right still so have requested a CT scan now. I don't use creatine and although I was active during that time I don't think I overdid it, although swinging around at bouldering is def gonna be stressing and stretching that joint. Hopefully the CT reveals an answer, although I'm not hopeful. Judging by my veins their must be a blockage or trapped vein that means blood is having trouble leaving my arm and is overworking the smaller veins, hence them being more prominent.
