bing
Seen as she has just shuffled off the mortal coil, what are people's thoughts? My old man hated her with a passion as he's an old school union man, and credits her with ruining the printing trade, as well as mining and steel trades. What do people think? casualjoe
She held a chemistry degree and was a very intelligent woman, she was the first leader to speak out about climate change. But then our economic interests became higher priority and she completely changed her mind, no idea what happened i was only 5, maybe Lord Christopher Monckton had something to do with it. isitafox
C'mon dan, you know that there's probably less than twenty people on here who actually could recollect her as prime minister. All the others will just go along with what they've been told about her or agreeing with people as they don't know any better.
AndrewEH1
BREAKING NEWS: Nelson Mandela Wins. Obviously it is a shame for the family, but being a 90s kid I have no real opinion of her. The only 'real' good she did was the Falklands, a lot of people in the North hate her but that's up to them. I'll mention Poll Tax as something that had a big effect in Scotland. Edited April 8, 2013 by AndrewEH1
Jake.
Spoke to my mum about it, and she hates her with a passion... "She made people jobless, and some of those people are still jobless because of that vile woman".
Muel
She made people jobless who's jobs were no longer needed. The trades she shut down were already dying anyway IMO. The mines definitely needed shutting as they were costing money, not making it.I've always admired her, one of the only politicians I've ever heard of who had some balls when it came to tricky decisions. We could do with her now to pull us out of the huge debt we owe to other countries!
Danny
Ive no real opinion of her as its before my times but some of the comments going round on fb etc are a tad harsh IMO.

craigjames
Muel pretty much spot on, she's hated by the people that lost those jobs, but she was the only one with big enough balls to do something about the shit situation this country was in. She made some tough decisions that affected a lot of people in this country detrimentally, but if she didn't we'd all be worse off. The unions didn't really do themselves any favours, they committed to long term strike action within industries that were already on their knees. That and she took the milk away from us school kids Edited April 8, 2013 by craigjames
Luke Dunstan
Oh, she had the balls to send troops to retake the Falklands. Don't think any PM would do that if the same situation arose.

Muel
Of course not, the people who live there are British, and as such rely on the British armed forces to look after them. There's no choice involved! We cannot be seen to accept invasion by other countries. Defending that tiny rock is as much a show of force to any other countries who want to get lively as it is about looking after our own.The island also acts as a base for our armed forces in the Atlantic, it's a very useful position to hold because our forces can (and have) be deployed from there far faster than from over here in a lot of cases. In my opinion anyway. Many people believe that because it's so far away we should just give them up, but there are several thousand British citizens over there who need to be defended. monkeyseemonkeydo
The unions didn't really do themselves any favours, they committed to long term strike action within industries that were already on their knees. I think you can pretty much blame the whole thing on the lazy good for nothing trade unions. They were the ones who killed the industries and although she was rather vicious she stuck to her guns and followed through. On the Falklands thing it's a real shame that stupid Argentinian cow does fall off a cliff... The recent vote by islanders was a total whitewash and they still come out with bollocks about how they're being ruled by a murderous dictatorship. Aregentina can go f**k itself as far as I'm concerned- same as when they decided to invade during Maggie's reign of terror.
hI-OOPS-CAPS
A man called into a radio station and voiced his opinion this morning, saying he's gonna buy some drinks to celebrate because he's happy of her death. I can't really believe the radio station aired that as it seems a bit extreme.
