Canardweb
Hi, I recently bought a pair of brand new '05 lever. I received them, unpaked them, filed the part to prevent it from cracking it, completely and carefully cleaned it after that operation, bled it in the sink with a syringe and making the lever clap two or three times. I then put them on the bike and after 5 rides with them, it started to become weird, I had to turn the TPA very often, so after further observation, there was some water on the piston. It was then clear that I had a leak at the piston for sure! I then completely unbuilt the lever, cleaned everything, put some grease around the piston and rebled it. But then, it started again. My question is: what makes this happen and what can I do to repair it? Thank you very much.
trialsiain
Make sure there is no catchy bits of metal inside where piston goes that could be scratching o ring

Maxx
Maybe it's the piston o-ring/body wich has been a little bit damaged when you opened the lever ?

Maxx
Check o-ring and also remove o-ring and check if there is scratch on the surface where the o-ring is. I once made a veryyyy little scratch on this surface (hardly visible by eyes) while removing the o-ring, and it made my brake leak. Anyway I can't see the body being the cause of the leaking, in my opinion it's necessarily the piston or o-ring. Maybe if you have piston spares you can try to put them in the brake ? Ok great, I'll take a careful look and see if that can be the cause. How did you manage to see the scratch?
