isitafox
I'm sure people have already heard of Foss innertubes and I wondered if they had tried one out on their trials bike? Just realised I've got one in my unicycle wheel with a 29 x 2.5" tyre (which explains the dapper valve stem) and it seems to be holding up pretty well off road but wondered how well they'd cope if at all in the rear wheel of a trials bike. If people haven't heard about them the basic idea is the fact the skin is so thin that when you get a pinch or a thorn stuck in your tyre they self seal temporarily and can also be thermally repaired (ie. with a lighter). The downside is the fact they are pricey and whilst being lightweight there are lighter normal tubes available, though if they stand up a bit better to puncture protection maybe the extra spend is worth it? Ali C
punctured mine first ride and a lighter just ruined it completely
picowatt
I was wondering about these. Maybe good for a regular mtb. But I'll stick with thick heavy duty rear tube until I get better.
