Brett@3sixty
Has anyone tried to remove the branding/graphics from your carbon handlebars? How did you go about it?
J.KYDD
Joe Seddon took off all the graphics from his old Rockman Carbons. Think he just gently used T-cut or something similar
Laurence--Trials
I dont think you're able to due to the fact its under the laqure(spelling??) You could maybe spray something over the top but i wouldn't risk what you're suggesting.
cai
Try lightly sanding the graphic, then re-spray that section with lacquer?
Brett@3sixty
Hmm, sounds like a wee bit of a faff! I'm not to fussed to be honest, just wondered if anyone had done it. Think it would be a nice clean look with all carbon showing!
craigjames
Green scotchbrite, just gently rub them down removing the lacquer and graphics, know a few people that have done this. Won't work if the bars have a thick gel coat.
Si whitby
I did it to my tryall carbon bars and I think they look really good! Just do as Craig said but don't worry about going soft as it will take a couple of stokes to heat up the lacquer before it comes off. Once you start on an area just keep going passed the stage where it turns white then it will suddenly go really smooth and give you the perfect matt finish. I spent around 2 hours on mine but well worth it especially if your graphics are starting to look tried. Hope this helps
Maxx
Can you post pics ? I had tried on a small area (Try-all bars) and I think graphics are under the laquer as after the white it looks like raw carbon.
Si whitby
Yes just take it all off!!! The white parts of the graphics can be stubborn but well worth it in the end. Good luck!
Maxx
But it will result in a weaker handlebar i suppose ? It's why i hesitate
Si whitby
If it does it will only be by the smallest amount. At the end of the day your running carbon bars if they go they go.
