ooo Posted March 7, 2013 Report Share Posted March 7, 2013 I can bunny hop 180 pretty good without having to carve, but going for 360 seems like a big transition. It's mainly because people are generally saying tap 360 first, but that involves changing my body position to drop my rear wheel. It just feels weird to even attempt. Does anyone have any tips / advice ? Or have you had a similar problem ? Im thinking to look upwards instead of down to try and tip my bike so I can tap. Wear a helmet and slam your brakes, cus I know how sketchy it can feel! I still haven't really landed a decent 3tap yet, most of the time I get on the rear and jump off the back. Another thing is making sure when you turn, you do so with your body in an up right position, cus my mate was watching me and said that I was still in my usual 180 position and kinda low, which meant I'd never get the right leverage to get onto the rear.. sstein Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 There are 2 ways to do a 3 tap. First is to go as if you were trying a 3 and just put your rear wheel down a bit early, for that you need to be able to get way past the 180 point. The other is to 180 to back wheel and just keep the rotation going either stationary or by hopping. If you want to do the hop method use your brake and get the rear down hard, when you feel like you are about to fall hop back and look over your shoulder, should spin you the other 180. For the other methods keep off the brakes and use pedal pressure to keep the front up. Mainly just keep trying. I would say that learning to 3 tap does not make learning a proper 360 easier, in fact I found that years of doing taps meant I had to relearn my technique for straight 3s (still don't always get them). I would say just find a good transition fly out and commit to the spin, the biggest problem normally is people not fully committing. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
