N.Wood
Nope, looks good to me. Its still full and 'succulent' looking. They start to go a little wrinkled when they are TOO dry. Water every week or so, just a little bit. I have a couple in my bathroom and they suck most of the moisture they need from the moist air.
dann2707
Brillo pad. Cheers. Had a little scare when I looked over and saw him looking brownier than normal, wish he could talk and tell me his feelings.
Danny00135
I'll paint the scene.. Dan wakes up, stretches his arms gets out of bed and places his feet into his grey ugg slippers. He turns to greet his new friend on the, some-what, sunny day, to see that He's become yellow. A tear rolls down Dans cheek. "GET THE WATER" The house scurries to Dans friends aid, Repeating, in a distressed voice "hang in there buddy, you're going to be OK" The Cactus becomes its usual green self again, where Dan there says "My Rockman Manus was nothing on you"

Greetings
He looks fine to be honest. Are you really concerned about his well-being or did you just want to show him off to the forum?

Hahahaha!! No I genuinely was concerned, I found a pic of when I first got him and he looked so much healthier.
N.Wood
Would a cactus die if you cut all the spikes off? Not ones like that, they are sorta like bramble or rose thorns. Some are more succulent and it'd definately hurt the poor thing. Hahahaha!! No I genuinely was concerned, I found a pic of when I first got him and he looked so much healthier. I'm no expert but a few things I've learnt in my 2 years of keeping houseplants: Central heating f**ks them over pretty good, is it near a rad? I know its pretty hot in the desert, but for some reason they dislike central heating. Also, have you ever fed it plant food? Might need some of that? I can imagine this page being linked on some "good housekeeping" forum with lots of aged women going ' Lol @ these dicks who think they know about cacti"
dann2707
It is kind of above my radiator in my room, but not directly above! I'll take a pic. I went over to my sisters yesterday and hers looks really fit! And it's got a flower growing out of the top?! I'm not sure if mine will evolve into that like a pokemon haha. I'll get some plant food for it then and see what happens. If i'm honest it was only around £3 from wilkinsons but it's the principle, if I can't look after a cactus how the f**k am I supposed to look after a baby or something? Where mine is above t radiator
Jake.
Maybe putting it in 3 plant pots will help?
FamilyBiker
with my cactus its weird:everytime we think its absolutely damned to die, suddenly it begins to grow little branches that become independent new cacti if you rip´em off and plant them in fresh earth. i just dont know where to put them,so much are they... FamilyBiker
Bigger pot? its already 40 cm in diameter and a bigger one wouldnt fit onto my window board... (wich is right above the radiator btw, they like it) edit:for example, one of those branches in another pot, already getting branches itself.a branch with a branch Edited March 9, 2013 by FamilyBiker
N.Wood
Check thats not a fake flower... They quite often glue on these flowers which were at one point real flowers fro ma different plant, are now dead but they still have a crisp feel and good colour, making it look like they sprouted out of the cactus.
