isitafox
Finally had a go on my Marino today and I'm under the impression that stupid high BB'd static move frames aren't really my bag, seen as I'm getting a replacement made I'm thinking of lowering the height from +70mm to around +50ishmm. Would this still work or would it be too low as I see Zoot's have a +40mm??? I'm putting this down to the fact I like my bunnyhops to rear and feel I struggle to gap this (from the one or two attempts I had) like I used to on my Because Simple and Echo Pure. dann2707
Aren't Zoots +35mm ? They feel quite, tgs'y ish anyway I think, in comparison to inspireds i've felt anyway. I'd order +70mm again though, by the time it actually reaches you the years of the force of gravity acting on the frame should have altered the natural geo anyway...
trialsiain
id give it a chance, when i moved from a 30bb stock to a 70 bb 24 it felt weird for a day or too but now i have progressed so much on it and it feels great for me now
cai
Get a higher front end?
isitafox
Good thinking, not got any room for any more spacers on the steerer but I forgot JAF do an extension!
Revolver
I always thought a higher BB would be better. If I made a custom street frame I might go for +45 or 50, it would make spinning stuff and hoppy stuff better.
FamilyBiker
the frame thats on its way to me is +50 BB,1025 WB, funny it´s 665 reach, but a "streety"bike. i´m trying to say that to keep the same reach you´d have to change other geo data, too, wich i´m certain you´d not want seeing the type of bike it is. sometimes little things are the answer,i´d say bring the bars in line with the forks and try that, made a massive difference both in look(ugly haha) and, much more important,in bunnyhop/manual and up-to-rear ability...it just no longer had that "levering"feel Edited March 6, 2013 by FamilyBiker
ogre
If you get something else I may take the marino off your hands...
Ross McArthur
I'd stick with it. Ride some natural, get used to how easy it is on the backwheel and use it to your advantage. If its too cramped, go for the steerer extension. Get some brakes that work too, that would help. :wink2:
isitafox
Not too cramped just very sit up and beg. Gonna try the extension to lift the bars a bit and roll them back a bit more. Hoping to stumble upon a cheap pair of saints (seems to be the trend when getting some) but these will do the job for now. I think it is mainly down to not having ridden any natural at all since last year and not much then anyway!
chimpanzyyyy
would be really nice to see a few clips of you on that beast, natty or street just checked the pics of your bike again, and the front end set up looks quite good about the bb height, seems like the correct numbers for a trialsy 24" frame
trials hoe
if i had a 24 made id go for a 1080wb and a +60 bb and the same 73* h/a as you went for, my deng 24 fells a tad too short for the bb height imo. but everybody likes different geos....... isitafox
I'll try and get a few clips on it, I think the winning part of the geo was having the reach at 665 to avoid having to use a stupid length stem.
