Jake.
I'm interested in playing games like Battlefield 3, Dead Space, Crysis... My current laptop struggles to run a game as simple as Bloons TD 5, so I'm interested in upgrading/buying a new laptop. Before you suggest it, no I'm not getting a PC. I'd rather have versatility any day. My current laptop spec is: Budget is £300 ideally, but can push it up to £500... Any help would be appreciated. Budget is £300 ideally, but can push it up to £500Simply put, no.You need to be spending at least £700 to play those games on a laptop, and that's playing them badly. £800 and it's starting to look viable IMO. Jake.
ugh I'll just get a ps4 then, to play a game with decent graphics on a pc is stupidly expensive.
HippY
You can get a £800 laptop for £500.. If you would change to PC.

It goes for around 1000 brand new, dont expect it to go under it :/ If I were you I would check Lenovo z500 /Y580 600/800+ pounds, they are decent, but do not go under i5 3210m and 640m ( do not know about ATI cards :/) And about PC: believe me, I am the guy, who likes to work fix and be with a big noisy, complicated powerful PC. I don't know much about graphics cards, all I know is motherboard graphics = bad and dedicated graphics = good. Yeah PC is pretty good I agree ha. Kevinfor
If I was buying a laptop for gaming I would go for an ASUS as they tend to lean more towards preformance over design. Stay away from stuff like Sony or Samsung. I'll have a quick search and see if I cant find anything. EDIT I dont know how ebay works but this might be something for you: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alienware-M11X-Gaming-Laptop-With-Logitech-MX518-Gaming-Mouse-/121073158821?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item1c3085caa5 Seems to be running out of time though so best hurry. HippY
That seems quite underpowered, 1.3 GHZ CPU, gt335m.. For this price it is alright, but no BF3 and stuff http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/B-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y580-59345715-i7-3630QM-2-40GHz-15-6-Gaming-Laptop-/290846081168?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item43b7c70090 it is decent, powerful, and it is around

HippY
It is just an example, but i5-3210 and gt640 should be enough for gaming ( of course not on ultra high graph) and z500/z580 should be good enough too and they are friendlier in price
Muel
I would go for an ASUS Stay away from stuff like Sony or Samsung. You've got to be shitting me...Anyway clearly a desktop isn't feasible for you, so my advice is that I strongly recommend Samsung. I just got one and it's brilliantly put together, the screen, battery and speakers are very high quality (which is often where Acer, Asus and other lower end manufacturers cut back).I'd go for an i5-3210m, 6gb+ of RAM, a GT650m or GT640m GPU and a hard drive. I'd also probably recommend going for a 1366x768 resolution. 1920x1080 is obviously a nicer picture, but you're gaming, and laptops within your budget simply can't run the games you want at that high a resolution very well. 1366x768 is a good enough picture, and you might get a decent framerate too. Also, I'd strongly recommend getting one of these and an SSD. I've got one and it's great, it lets you move the HDD into that adapter in place of the optical drive, move the optical drive to a USB caddy, and then have an SSD in the native slot. I've currently got a 128gb Crucial M4 SSD and a 1tb HDD in mine, which is easily enough power and storage space for a laptop. williams
Actually the processor isn't that important as everyone thinks it is. People tend stare themself blind on the processor while the graphic card is the most imortant. Just saying.. And yes that's a personal experience. I want to add that you can safely overclock your processor and unlock 1 more core if you have some computer skills (I have) You could deffo build a gaming PC for around £350-370. And I'm talking about a computer for example crysis 2 on high settings. I wouldn't even look for a gaming laptop since a good one that doesn't overheat and have problems after some gaming cost around £900 minimum... Or just make your own Although Chill Blast's prices are good, a mate at work ordered a gaming PC from them and it took a few more weeks than expected for it to be shipped out. ZeroMatt
Not really worth paying that much for those specs. For more or less the same price you can get something better brand new.
