m.stone
Got a zoo pitbull, got a tensile 18 teeth freewheel on front and a 15t on the rear, chain meets up but the freewheel is stiff, so put an onza tensioner on it. found out my drop out was bent so replaced that. and still the chain keeps coming off. the chain is a kmc k4e? Anyone know any reason for this? Thanks
monkeyseemonkeydo
Pictures of the setup? Chain line and alignment of the tensioner would be possible issues...
trials hoe
whats the chain line look like (wonky)? or it the tensioner 'pulling' it off by being aligned badly? Edited March 5, 2013 by trials hoe
m.stone
It looks straight I am struggling to get any pictures on the forum at all I will try again now though Do these help?
monkeyseemonkeydo
still the chain keeps coming off. When you say the chain's coming off do you mean actually coming off the drivetrain completely or just skipping?
trials hoe
looks like you need to move the rear sprocket closer to the dropout (away from the center of the hub) to me or use a narrower axle bb if you can clearance wise, could just be the pics though..... m.stone
When you say the chain's coming off do you mean actually coming off the drivetrain completely or just skipping? Coming off the rear cog mate looks like you need to move the rear sprocket closer to the dropout (away from the center of the hub) to me or use a narrower axle bb if you can clearance wise, could just be the pics though..... I was thinking this as there is two big spacers and one small just swap small one to the other side, trip to get some tools then for me :/ lol
m.stone
I have moved rear sprocket rides for longer. But still comes off :/.
BradJohnson
Get a sprung tensioner or bodge an old mech. Edited March 10, 2013 by BradJohnson
dezmtber
I seen one simmilar before. I put the rear cog to the outside edge and bent the Dmr steel tensioner out straight so it would line up Propper. You may well struggle to straighten out that alloy onza tensioner. So a shorter bb or Dmr tensioner will sort out your chain line. But you can only have he shorter bb if your cranks are a long way from your chain and seat stays ( frame)
m.stone
Im not sure what size bb is on it atm, would it have anything to do with having a freewheel on the front which is not used? I hate chains :/ thats always what stops me riding
ghostrider88
Oh so you have freehub and freewheel, not that is the cause of your problem but it´s not how it should be.
bike_dummie
Tension the chain upwards to increase wrap around the sprocket?
Blake
You need a 2 wheeled tensioner ideally

williams
Just curious, when you roll around, what part does the freewheeling? The front freewheel or the rear hub?
