bing
Anyone got any? I'm using old and new nitromors to strip the red paint off a mad phase 1.2. It's proving to be a right b*****d. Won't shift. I did what it said on the tin, put some on, left it 30 mins and put some more on. Not much paint coming off. Might have to resort to acid dip at this rate

ogre
its pretty hefty paint on those frames, my ashton effect took f**king ages. apply it thick, and leave that sucker over night.
bing
Yeah that's the plan. I blathered it on real thick, and stuffed it in the shed
Jake.
Leaving it for at least 2 hours and thick is the way to go, that or get some industrial paint stripper.

Rob Leech
Lots of scrapping, then head to Halfords and find their enamel application spray. I think it's some sort of de-greaseing agent, but I was having the same trouble not long ago, sprayed that stuff on and all the paint and nitromorse just fell off. Pretty awesome stuff whatever it is .

dezmtber
That Ashton frame is probbably powder coated and needs dipping
bing
It's a mad phase 1.2, not an Ashton . Also, would acid dipping affect the bond on the steerer tube? It's steel bonded into ally forks. Edited March 5, 2013 by bing
dezmtber
I used some nitromors today to good effect. Apply of using a scouring pad gets the paint off quick, and finish it off with some white spirits. Good clean with fairy liquid and rinse with boiling water from the kettle. And my frame was well ready for a fresh paint job
