Greetings
I obviously know Hans Rey is a legend, but can someone explain to me why? Was he a pioneer of this sport alongside Ot and Cesar?
ghostrider88
He was a pioneer before them.
LEON
He was the main man 20 years ago. Shit loads of publicity for GT, before Ashton, Hawyes, Akrigg, Tongue.

sstein
Yeah but that was before it was re-welded and heat-treated. It should be a lot stronger now.
isitafox
Sorry it took so long but here's the interview I promised. Scans aren't brilliant as the scanner is on its last legs but they should be readable! Page 6 is missing one line at the bottom so I added it in with paint (professional stylee).

manuel
He rode the Atlanta Olympic opening ceremony (I think it was Atlanta) which would make him the most watched trials rider of all time? (Unlucky joe)
CC12345678910
Well, it's a static 'bunnyhop' from on top of the car... this i did not realise. it makes sense now. there is also a photo i remember outta mbuk of him carving, and airing out of, a 10ft or higher curved wallride people would be so happy about doing now. Except he were on a rigid with maggies on evo mounts, with like a 130mm 2bolt bar clamp stem and all dressed in highlighter yellow Lycra skinsuit and open face XC helmet. The guy was/is insane. EDIT: A quick google threw up this http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/a-hans-rey-day-7209/ It says he rode though molten lava! isitafox
Not really molten lava but he rode an active volcano
CC12345678910
"It was Hans who saw that riding down through the lava flow from an active volcano would make good TV." From that I read hot lava, but you sound right.
