MadManMike
That bike is bloody beautiful. The tan sidewall tyres really work on the stealthy colour scheme.

Cheers Mike! It’s even faster than it looks. 4 rides in 1 week is a record for me
Ross McArthur
Haha. Class. Very nice steed.
US_BenR
Not the best photo, but my road bike. She's light, fast and expensive.
CurtisRider
Yet another 'gravel' build from me. My last frame was a bit too small and I was very kindly given this frame and fork combo for free! Recovering from a very unhappy achilles tendon but I'm loving riding this thing, its a cracking bike for how little it has cost me and suits my riding and local terrain perfectly. The Easton fork is superb, It soak ups small bumps yet remains plenty stiff enough, especially since I'm still on regular QR axles.

Bars are off a motocross bike I had and they have a decent amount of backsweep, inboard bar ends feel like riding in the hoods on my road/gravel bikes and the 650b wheels feel pretty good in a 26" frame. The carbon Toseek forks are like wet spaghetti, super comfy but I'm a bit worried they are just going to snap so I'll probably ditch them in favour of my kinesis aluminium fork. I took it out for a gentle spin with my father inlaw and it feels really good, I'm looking forward to taking it out on some of the local trails and seeing how it performs then, it feels like a big bmx and very playful This thing looks a hoot to ride. It’s the kind of rig that doesn’t look out of place anywhere… city streets, a muddy trail or even a bit of a rip at a skate park. Love it. JT!
Picked up this beauty for $120. Not reason why, just thought it was cool and will give me something to tinker with this summer. I feel like it's gonna be fast.

I've never been much of a dirt jumper but I'm loving this setup for jumps. Gone from 18st9lb to 16st3lb since building it too, properly enjoying being back on a bike! Luke Rainbird
Nice one Tom, bike sounds great and that's a considerable drop in organic mass, congrats! I picked up a Whyte T130 for Soph 6 months ago and it's been great - currently looking for a c130mm 27.5" trail bike to replace my old 2010 Stumpy and struggling to find much that ticks the box as well as another T130 for the money. Don't really want to be "that" guy rocking up at the trail centre with matching His'n'hers setups though
Tom Booth
My mate picked up a whyte t130 a few months ago to dip his toe into full sus, absolutley awesome bike for the money!
Luke Rainbird
Well, after having good intentions to pick up something more modern but suitable for the stuff we ride, it all went a bit wrong and I went full retard ordering bits to complete the incomplete Yeti SB6C frame I acquired a while back. Guess I'm building an enduro bike now

AdamR28
Did you try to add photo there Tom? Or just belatedly very happy for Luke? I've recently gone full XC whippet, bought lycra and everything. This bike is seriously easy to ride very fast. Technology: who knew? 1
Luke Rainbird
As much as I can't condone the lycra, the bike looks great, Ads. It's like when cars look quick standing still. Do you know the weight, looks a pretty svelt setup? Some exciting news for @Tom Booth to enjoy in mid-July, the Yeti build is starting to come together a bit now. Frame hardware arrived. Pivot and shock bolts, mech hanger, dogbone linkage: Found an unused set of MG-1s in the spares box: Had some play in the BB - the one which came in the frame didn't have the wavy washer and end cap/seals that new SRAM GXP BBs have, so I pinched them off the old bike to fill the gap and all spot on: The wheels in that photo are a set of Mavic XA I acquired FOC a couple of years ago. They had spacers to adapt to 148mm and the Yeti is 142mm, so for want of a quick fix I found some suitable steel tube to act as an axle, and the grinder span the spacer as a makeshift handheld lathe to part off some of the length: I'd picked up some MT7 levers and calipers back in the first lockdown. They came without hoses, but were dirt cheap so I figured I'd build them up eventually. 2 years on, I finally did. Only to find one lever had an issue rendering it useless. Ah well, still cheap just for the calipers to be honest! I've since swapped out for my SLX levers and gone Shigura. Waiting on a bleed cup to get a small amount of air out but they feel good so far. Set of Hope Fortus 26 wheels arrived yesterday - Got these for a good price, and a friend is buying the hubs off me. Spoke lengths work out such that I can lace the rims up to my existing Pro II EVO hubs just fine, and new cost of the wheels will be about £50 which is a win Some drivetrainy bits also arrived the past couple of days, albeit no photos of most of it. NX Eagle 12spd cassette (11-50t, so will fit my current HG freehub rather than needing an XD driver), NX shifter and mech, and a GX chain. Dug a few other bits out and mocked it all up to resemble a bike: It'll be more than I need by a long chalk, but if I can keep the weight down (should be ~30lb or so, all being well) and the frame is as efficient uphill as the early reviews suggseted, then it should be tolerable for my needs. Worst case, the frame and fork get sold and replaced with something in the 130mm region. The SB66 was a dream bike when it first came out, so it's nice to be able to build something similar either way, plus it'll give me an excuse to learn to jump and drop if nothing else! The yeti looks a stunner dude, properly cool thing!
Luke Rainbird
Yeah, ideally I'd have picked up something 130-140mm straight off the bat, but I got impatient after nothing turned up silly cheap within a week so ordered Yeti parts instead I might try and swap/sell&buy my way to an SB5 instead at some stage, but I'm not so keen on the way they look and as well all know, that's the most important factor with bikes... Soph still mentions that random ride we had at Cannock years ago with @forteh. Will have to do something similar in due course. I don't tend to get so far as Mansfield these days, but do occasionally visit Leicester (ish) with work and racing so it might be doable! Luke Rainbird
Well, after feeling all positive about getting the bike (pretty much) done this weekend, I've been the master of my own downfall. A while back (9 years, according to eBay) I had to convert my Pro 2 rear hub from 36h to 32h. It appears I grabbed a Pro 2 EVO shell at that point, which is the same as the non-evo version so swapped straight over. The axle, of course, isn't the same at all so the 142x12 end caps, which I bought after checking the shell and seeing it was definitely an EVO, don't fit and I can't get it on the bike as hoped. Muppet. Ah well, the new axle is only £20 and it's a good excuse to replace the bearings as they're also 8 years old
Tom Booth
MTB parts compatibility in the last few years is getting such a headache. Glad it's a cheap fix though!
Luke Rainbird
I can't really blame anyone else for this one, sadly! Ah well, cheap and cheerful solution. In other "FFS Rainbird you mong" news: Laced up the new front wheel yesterday, got the bike out of the garage to use the forks as a truing stand and proceeded to drop a brake fitting. Naturally, it went straight through between the decking boards never to be seen again. Classic.

Tom Booth
I pre-ordered a Cotic BFEmax about a week ago, frame to be delivered in August . I fancy trying a 29er, purely to see how I fair with one as I'm a taller rider at 6ft5, I'd love to have built a hightower or something similar but can't justify having that much money in 2 bikes, so thought go a cheaper route. A friend of a friend has a Cotic Solarismax and really gets on well with it, but he's alot more XC/trail based, where as I'd like to think this will be a trail, jump, bike park kinda build so the bfe seemed the right choice. Just want a solid build that's gonna be minimal hassle. Parts on order/being accumulated, mostly second hand which is a win. Spec's looking like- Lyrik select+ 150 Hunt trail wide wheelset, minion dhr f+r Oneup 35mm risebar and stem combo M7120 4pt brakes (have them left from my Orange) Hope evo crankset/chainring/bb XT shifter, derailleur and 51-11 12 speed Charge spoon saddle and 210mm oneup dropper.
