ItsMatt
FIXIE WARNING I have been living in Portsmouth for nearly two months now (the most dangerous place for cyclists outside of London MIGHT I ADD ) This is my only means of transport because I'm poor and I hate public trasportblahlbahlbalhlab Specialised Langster, 2010. 42-17 is a bit light for the long straights and flowing with traffic but rad for setting off at the lights, always gives people a surprise recently added some tread for the seasons and it really fills out the fitment and makes the ride much more pleasant on my ass. Don't think I've posted pretty pictures of her yet?ignore the duct tape keeping the top of my seat somewhat secure in the seat post, I don't have a vice.. I got a free tarty chainstay protector from radfest but wouldn't fit my genesis and I had to cut it down a little bit. So I decided to use the spare cut off to stick it around the seat post and slide it up until it is slightly touching the tyre to help reduce shit flying off the wheel(yeah I know which way the wheel spins but it still helps, honest) Total cost: £90Probably not stolen either.
saltine
£90? Are you rich or something? Here's my free road bike kidding of course... I bought it when it had a HED carbon disc on the rear and custom 24" HED on the front... sold and replaced the wheels for more than I paid for the bike! CurtisRider
Dropper arrived, it won't latch into the lowest setting which is frustrating, i'm wondering if the boot is preventing it from squishing enough as it half catches and then pops up

CurtisRider
Dropper arrived, it won't latch into the lowest setting which is frustrating, i'm wondering if the boot is preventing it from squishing enough as it half catches and then pops up Just incase anybody is interested, I revisited the post and found that although the cable looks like it has a gear cable end on, it is in fact designed to work with something smaller. A quick session with the bench grinder and I now have a perfectly operating post!
AndrewEH1
What dropper did you get?
CurtisRider
The Tmarrs one that was linked by Dave, budget dropper with a modified lockout lever. I've pull it apatt and reassembled with nice grease+filed the holes so the pin grips nicely as I read they can be an issue

Duncy H
That would be funky, going revolution bike park soon anybody been before?
CurtisRider
I'd be up for going, never been before. I'm currently rebuilding my bike, it's having a full strip down, fresh coat of paint on the frame, new bearings all round and the brakes bled (rear lever popped the other day so that's being replaced). Hopefully it'll ride a bit better as many frame bearings were seized!
bing
I've not ridden at Cannock, sounds like a plan
CurtisRider
We should get something organised. My Giant has had a mini make over, just needs lacquer and fresh graphics made up for it once it's all hardened. Collecting the new bearings shortly The rear suspension had become noticeably sticky, I thought it was the shock but I doubt anything could have been plush on those bearings... bing
Deffo. I'm enjoying riding mine far more than I'm enjoying trials just lately. Even to the point where I'm considering selling both of them and buying a top quality full suss mtb. So much more fun
CurtisRider
That's how it got for me, proper trail riding is sooooo good, I am absolutely loving it. My bike is now back together, phone photo doesn't do it much justice though! Really chuffed with how much better it looks, fresh bearings have made the suspension out back feel so much more plush, it explains the initial stickyness of the back end when first riding. Hopefully looking at some replacement Pikes tonight, same model just not worn out and wobbly like mine, currently white so I will spray them to match the front of my bike
CurtisRider
Ok so after that post I found some Pikes locally... £80 they are white but I can spray them to make them look pretty again. Took them apart and they are really clean inside with no noticeable wear! Fresh oil and then boshed on the bike, I will put my motion control damper on at some point as these are the more basic OEM fork (alloy steerer instead of my previous steel though) but good enough for what I want.
